I’m a writer, journalist, editor and publishing expert. I’m help creatives and entrepreneurs achieve their writing dreams supporting them in their journeys to plan, write, edit, publish and promote their books and magazines.
I hope my work will help bring some change in the media and publishing industries, promoting more diverse voices and making writing and publishing more accessible and inclusive.
I love chatting about travels, foreign cultures, and getting tips on where to find the best coffee, ice cream and independent bookshops around the world.
They say we all have a book in us, and for creatives and entrepreneurs being published is often a dream milestone. But it can feel scary, complicated and unachievable. I'm here to help you achieve your writing dreams!
We will take your views from your mind to the page, untangling your ideas and transform them in a thread of words, ready to be shared with the world.
Your ideas can turn into the books we love to cuddle up with and learn from, the ebooks we read on our tablets, the magazines we leaf through while sipping our coffees and finding inspiration.
Writers talk about their work in many ways: as an art, as a calling, as a lifestyle. Too often missing from these conversations is the fact that writing is also a business.
For long time I struggled to call myself a writer, convincing myself I wasn’t “really a writer”, despite spending over 10 hours a day writing for work and for passion.
I had this ideal person in mind, immediately making their full income from writing books or working at the head of a national newspaper. It was an unrealistic image from my childhood dreams, from a time when career meant only one specific activity to which adults dedicated most of their days and were paid for. In my mind, the writers of the books I loved were spending their working hours solely crafting stories at their desks. Years later, my job in communication and a few freelance journalism gigs on the side didn’t add up to this picture and so didn’t make me a writer.
The magic happened when I started to talk to creatives and entrepreneurs, the real-life human being beyond book jackets and sleek websites, the creatives typing away at their laptops, planning their books while running their businesses, setting up newsletters and blogs, working at events and projects…they portrayed a different image and one much closer to reality.
Then one day an editor surprised me telling me: “it was such a pleasure to work with a talented writer as you are”. I almost laughed at my shock when she referred to me as a writer. Something inside me clicked: I already made my full income from words on a page, I didn’t need to be in a bookshop’s window or the front page of a magazine to own it.
Hello, I’m Veronica Ferrari! Founder of More Than Just Views, I’m a writer, journalist, editor and publishing expert.
I was born and grew up in Italy, where I was forever ruined by the highest standards of coffee, pizza and ice cream! I have the extreme luck of having parents who love travelling and who showed me the world since I was little. In between holidays, I kept travelling through the pages of books and started to write my own stories. I studied as many foreign languages as I could, dreaming one day to be able to read all books in their original languages. I collect way too many magazines and always buy too many books, which is not ideal when you need to move across the world!
After graduating in Communications and an internship in a publishing house, I chased my dream of living abroad and moved to London to study at the London School of Journalism. I started my career in the media industry while trying to absorb as much culture as possible from a city who never stopped to amaze me. I picked up all sorts of magazines and books for my collection across the city, on the tube and from bookshops and book sellers.
Little did I know that in all my wandering around London I would have met someone special, and that four years of London life later I would be swapping cappuccinos for iced coffees in Rio de Janeiro!
Moving to Brazil I took my career freelance: while I continue to work in media monitoring, I started writing for sites and agencies about Brazil, lifestyle, politics, travels and more. My piles of books and magazines kept growing!
While forced to stay at home, I spent the year reading and writing and decided to start a Master in Publishing at Oxford Brookes University to learn more about the industry and all the practical aspects of publishing.
After years talking to entrepreneurs, creatives and aspiring authors, I founded More Than Just Views to empower business ownders with the right tools, knowledge and confidence to achieve their writing dreams.
When I’m not writing or reading you can find me swimming, travelling and tasting all the ice creams and pizzas around the world.
